What's a Bad Beat??
I am having a hard time surviving with my 6 kids (3 are stepkids btw), and my husband has been supporting our three kids and paying child suppport on the others, until he had a heart attack and stroke at age of 39.
Now, I am an RN but need to get at least 1500 in fees and costs for refresher courses etc. because I haven't worked in 5 years or more. Anyways, I live in NW Indiana near Lake Michigan and we have a ton of casino boats and I decided to hop on a bus and go apply for a job as a waitress or bartender to save money to get my classes.
I had $7 left on me and I put it in a slot machine and as soon as I hit a jackpot, I went straight to the tables and watched a bit and took the $40 dollars I had won on the slots and sat at a poker table with small enough blinds for me to sit, but not until i studied the way the people were playing at that poker table. It was a $2,50/$5 and those are hard to find but, I found one.
Anyways, I ended up acting like a bluffer for a couple hands and when i hit pocket kings I went all in and they thought I was bluffing I more than quadrupled the $40 i had after the slots. By the time I came home I had over $170 which considering that I started with seven dollars and turned it into one hundred and seventy, and as tight of a budget as I am on, it was fantastic to have won! That's my story!
